Another Day Slips Away Larry Dunn © ‘03
The Western sky is lit in crimson flames
As the sinking sun sets the heavens ablaze
Turquoise blue turns deep violet shades
As another day slips away
Evening meals are simmerin’ on kitchen stoves
And over dinner tables the day’s stories are being told
One more sun sets as the night unfolds
Another day slips away
I stand in wonder, humbled and amazed
At the mountain peaks crowned in a crimson blaze
… The Almighty painted across the sky
At how quickly days and dreams fly by
Memories are polished in the sands of time
As they sift through the hourglass the brighter they shine
All jagged edges mellow down by and by
As another day slips away
As another day…slips through my fingers and under my skin
And I can’t help but think, every now and then
‘Bout the places I’ve been, the people I’ve crossed
The games I’ve won and the loves I’ve lost
The western sky is lit in crimson flames
As the sinking sun sets the heavens ablaze
Turquoise blue turns deep violet shades
As another day slips away
