The musicians on this, my 7th album, are all great Sf. Bay Area players and thanks to their artistry and musicianship, the songs on Jukebox Novella have been fully realized. Also, credit goes to Jermaine Hamilton's work as tracking/mix engineer and co-conspirator (full credits listed below). Over the years, I've been influenced by a lot of great music from a number of different styles, so it's no surprise that the songs I've written for this album reflect that. There's cross-pollinating going on and a mix of genres in this release, borrowing primarily from the ageless American roots music tradition. As a songwriter, I've never fit neatly into any particular bag, I prefer to stretch as far as my abilities will take me, using the same 12 notes all western musicians choose from. I like my music on the organic side so if you're looking for a sampled, computer generated, synthetic, music collage, you'll not find it here. For me, a song has to sound good with just acoustic guitar and voice before recording and embellishing. My hope is that these songs ring true, will stand the test of time, and that you'll enjoy this album as much as I've enjoyed making it.
